This is a genius way to use up leftover hot dog buns. Turn them into delicious garlic bread with a crispy outside and pillowy soft inside. Easy to make in 15 minutes in the air fryer or oven!

Ingredients
Ingredients for this one are pretty basic.
Most important, first and foremost, are the Hot Dog Buns. This recipe works with any type of hot dog bun, from brioche to whole wheat to those super cheap wonderbread type buns (which is what we usually use). Don't worry if they're a tad stale. The garlic butter will perk them up.
Butter or Margarine: Actually we found margarine to work better than butter for these hot dog garlic buns. Keeps the inside softer while maintaining a nice crisp outside.
Garlic: You can either use raw minced garlic, or homemade roasted garlic for a more mellow flavour. Don't be tempted to add more garlic than the recipe card states. Too much garlic will turn these garlic breads bitter.
Garlic Powder: Important for boosting the garlic flavour, without making the garlic bread too bitter.
Herbs: You can use either scallions, chives, or parsley, or a mix of all three!
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

Step 1: Use a microwave to soften the butter. Mix in the minced garlic, garlic powder, and scallion/parsley/chives.
Step 2: Spread the garlic butter mixture over the face side of the split hot dog buns.

Step 3: Put the hot dog buns in a cold air fryer or oven. (No need to preheat; just put the bread slices on the rack and then turn it on. It will take a few minutes to preheat.)
Step 4: Once preheat is done, air fry the hot dog bun garlic bread at 375 °F for 2 to 3 minutes. Alternatively, broil in an oven at 400 °F for 2 minutes.
Variations
- Spicy - add chili pepper flakes into the garlic-butter mixture.
- Italian Seasoning - mix in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, or try pizza seasoning!
- Add Cheese - mix in 2 tablespoons of shredded parmesan cheese, or whatever other shredded cheese you like.
Storage
Hot dog bun is best enjoyed hot and fresh out of the oven, but you can store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. Just reheat in an air fryer or oven for a minute to re-crisp the outside before eating.
