Sweet and Sticky Air Fryer Char Siu

You’ve got to make this sweet and sticky Air Fryer Char Siu. This is the easiest mess-free way to make Hong Kong-style roast pork.

If you’re intimidated  by making your own char siu from scratch, don’t be. It’s really simple with an air fryer!

INGREDIENTS:

pork shoulder

char siu sauce

honey

oyster sauce

hoisin sauce

Slice the pork into thick segments, around 3 inches thick.

Whisk together all of the Char Siu Sauce ingredients.

Massage the char siu sauce into the pork. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 8 hours or up to two days (48 hours).

When ready to cook, preheat air fryer to 400°F. Line with parchment paper. Air fry the pork for 15 to 20 minutes.

Add honey or maltose to the remaining marinade to make a basting sauce. Flip and bake pork every 5 minutes.
